"The Show Must Go Wrong" is the second segment in the third episode of the first season of Hailey's On It!. It is also the fifth episode of the season overall. It premiered early on June 9, 2023 on Disney+, and premiered a week later on Disney Channel on June 17, 2023 to 0.12 million viewers.[2] Plot[]Hailey and Scott stuff their faces with the cleaning of the now closed buffet at U.F. Dough, Sunny's, Scott's mother's, restaurant. They are interrupted by Beta who is disgusted with their eating habits. He tells them that Hailey's next item is to be in a school musical, which Scott considers great timing as his girlfriend Kristine wrote a musical called Hats: The Musical and considers that she join the production. Sunny explains that she is happy to hear that Scott is in it as it will allow her to see him perform. Hailey is unsure, but is coaxed into it and ends up getting a role as a hat rack as she will not have to sing. Becker, Scott's younger sister, is involved as a techie so she can destroy the sets after the play is over. Hailey admits to herself that the songs are catchy and begins singing privately, only for Kristine to hear her and suggests that she have her own solo song, but Hailey politely refuses. The show finally comes around as everyone enjoys the numbers while Hailey sits on the sidelines for what she hopes will be for the remainder of the show. During the "Fedorable" number Kristine is blinded by one of the stage lights, ironically at her own suggestion, and falls and injures her ankle. Needing to perform the final love duet, Kristine asks Hailey to replace her, but she refuses with Scott saying that he will carry the duet on by himself. Scott goes out and tries to sing the song, but becomes nervous (he previously admitted that he was feeling stage fright for the first time). Hailey, not wanting to see her friend suffer, finally goes out and helps sing the duet with him, making the play a success. Hailey realizes that she has overcome her fear of public singing as Kristine commends her. As Hailey admits wanting to sing again, Becker and the rest of the stage crew come out and become promptly destroying the sets. Kristine reminds them that they have five more performances, but Becker tells them that the play is already a "smash hit" and continues destroying things. Cast[]Main Cast[]Additional voices[]
