"Cos-Played" is the second segment in the fourth episode in the first season of Hailey's On It!. It is also the seventh episode of the season overall. It premiered early on June 9, 2023 on Disney+, and premiered a week later on Disney Channel on June 17, 2023 to 0.10 million viewers.[2]

Plot

Hailey completes her next item which is build a replica of a lighthouse using popsicle sticks. Upon completion, Beta receives a holographic message from the Professor congratulating Hailey on her fiftieth item being completed. As a reward, she hid a special object in one of Hailey's skates, which she begged her parents for, but never used. Hailey finds a small glowing orb, but before the Professor could explain it, Scott, who had eaten all the popsicles, throws up on Beta, ending the message early. Beta informs them that their next item is to go to Hero Con to get an autograph from Hero Force creator Chan Yee and the trio dress up in cosplay to attend the event.

While waiting in line, Hailey, Scott and Beta overhear a couple of fellow cosplayers, led by Arlo, that they have three extra VIP tickets and do not know what to do with them. Hailey, Scott and Beta convince them to give it to them for a place in their line and are directed to the VIP line. However, this turns out to be a line to the restroom and Arlo and his group scammed them. Arlo refuses to give them back their spot, so Hailey goes to security, which just so happens to be Arlo's twin brother Atticus. He tells them that since they willingly gave up their place in line and did not pay anything, there is nothing he can do and boots them out for having fake VIP tickets.

Hailey, Scott and Beta go to the other fans to help them get their place back, but they refuse to have physical confrontations. The three are shoved to the ground by Arlo who breaks Hailey's staff (containing the orb which breaks upon hitting the ground). Hailey refuses to back down until the Professor suddenly arrives along with the real Hero Force who scares Arlo and his gang away. The Professor reveals that Hero Force is still a big deal in the future and that the people she is with are actually cosplayers too. The orb was to call for help, but Hailey broke it, making it a one time use. Before leaving, the Professor asks that Hailey get an autograph for her from Chan Yee as well. In the future, the Professor gets the autograph, but spills soda on it.
